Padma Bhushan Prof N S RAMASWAMY- National Professor, HRD Ministry, Government of India Prof NS Ramaswamy has more than 50 years of varied experience in the Management field as Management consultant, Educationist, Teacher Researcher, Institution Builder and a Manager. He is Founder Director of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Prior to this he was Director, NITIE Bombay, Professor in Bajaj Institute of Management Bombay, consultant/advisor Anna Institute of Management Chennai and Institute of Management Trivandrum. Prof Ramaswamy was Chairman of Animal Welfare Board, Review Committee on Animal power under Indian Council of Agricultural Research, World Productivity Congress, Institute of Industrial Engineering, Computer Society of India. He is a strict vegetarian but he was the Chairman of Meat Committee Government of Kerala and Government of India. Prof Ramaswamy has been a consultant-cum-advisor to: * Airports Authority of India, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources. Parliamentary committee on Railways, UNESCO on Broadcasting Management, UNO on Brain drain. He was also a member of Review Committees on Reserve Bank of India, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Indian Statistical Institute, Institute of Agricultural Research and Management etc He is well known as Cartman ( Centre for Action, Research,& Technology for Man, Animal and Nature) – he is a pioneer in conducting research and campaigns for modernization of bullock carts and animal slaughter houses. He has taken the management science to Agriculture, Rural Development, Transport system, Education, Health services and ecology and environment. Prof Ramaswamy is currently Chairman of Indian Heritage Academy which organizes programs on Philosophy & Spirituality, Citizens Forum which organizes lectures on civic and public affairs, Temple of understanding promoting inter religious harmony. Prof Ramaswamy has developed an ECO Park with more than 300 plants and a center for Animals, veterinary clinic and children’s home feeding poor children all free service. He has written many books- to cite a few are Management of Famine Relief Operations, Management of Political Systems, Indian Philosophy and Culture etc.
